Under new management since 2015, we’ve continued our commitment to providing valued service and a wide range of products. We’re dedicated to expanding our selection to meet the evolving needs of our community, while maintaining our stock of customer favourites.
Our comprehensive stock encompasses a vast array of fabrics, a diverse selection of trimmings, ribbons, buttons, and lace, as well as essential backing and wadding. You will also find a full range of DMC embroidery threads, specialised quilting materials, soft toy stuffing, comfortable cushion pads and panels, and all the necessary sewing supplies, including pins, needles, threads, and sewing boxes. In addition, we offer a variety of ready-made items and regularly feature end-of-range and seasonal sales. I purchased the business in 2015. For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed all forms of crafting. Having retired early and with unexpected time on my hands when the opportunity arose to buy a business that embraced all my hobbies it was very quickly a done deal. Not everyone can say they go to work to play! Looking to the future I am pleased that Luci will eventually take over the reins, if retirement sticks this time!
Luci
I initially worked in the shop part time while also working as a TV Extra. I loved working in the shop and within a year took on a full time roll. I had grown up watching mum sewing and knitting, with lots of home made Halloween costumes and knitted jumpers, but had never really sewed myself. I am now a keen dress maker and have finally learned to knit, much to mums delight. I am now co director of the business and look forward to taking it over one day when mum retires.
